NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CANNON BEACH CITY COUNCIL
The Cannon Beach City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Cannon Beach City Hall, 163 East Gower Street, Cannon Beach regarding the following:
ZO 25-02, City of Cannon Beach request for Housing related Zoning Ordinance text amendments to Chapters 17.04 Definitions; 17.30 Residential Moderate Density (R1) Zone; 17.32 Residential Medium Density (R2) Zone; 17.34 Residential High Density (R3) Zone; 17.40 Limited Commercial (C1) Zone; 17.60 General Requirements and Regulations; 17.68 Off-Street Parking; 17.70 Design Review; 17.72 Accessory Uses Generally; and a new section 17.60.200 Public Benefit Dwelling Owner Occupancy Requirements. The Zoning Text Amendment request will be reviewed against the criteria of the Municipal Code, Section 17.94.060(A) Amendments Criteria, and the Statewide Planning Goals.
The proposal would change the way in which the city regulates housing. The city has determined that adoption of this ordinance may affect the permissible uses of your property, and other properties in the affected zone, and may change the value of your property.
The city files for these items are available for inspection at the Cannon Beach City Hall located at 295 E 2nd St Cannon Beach. A copy of the documents is available for purchase at a nominal fee to cover the cost of reproducing the document. All interested parties are invited to attend the hearings and express their views. Statements will be accepted in writing or orally at the hearing. Staff reports are available for inspection at no cost or may be obtained at a reasonable cost seven days prior to the hearing.
